“What did you like to do for fun as a kid?”
That’s the question Nature Valley asked three generations of families in an effort to see how the way we spend our childhood years and how that has changed.
It’s obvious from the start that our most recent generation relies a lot on technology to keep them preoccupied — we didn’t need Nature Valley to tell us that. But it’s obvious that many kids are less inclined to go outside nowadays and opt for something with wifi capabilities instead.
That’s nothing against today’s kids because that’s the environment many of them are growing up in. One where it’s easier to lose hours at a time on a screen than by getting outside and exploring something new. It’s even a problem for a lot of adults that did grow up playing outside.
Technology has created numerous opportunities for us to become more connected and it’s been great for the most part. But it’ll never offer that awe-inspiring feeling of seeing a waterfall or waking up to a sunrise over the mountains or whatever incredible moment nature will provide for your next adventure.
So get outside with your kids and rediscover how incredible nature is.
