Viewers who recently tuned in to see live footage of the bald eagle nests in Pittsburgh were in for quite the surprise when the hungry birds brought home an unexpected snack.
The snack in question turned out to be a cat, which was fed to two young eaglets. It’s not surprising in the least that some disturbing behavior would be witnessed on a 24/7 live stream of a predatorily birds nest. Nature isn’t always pretty – nothing to get upset about.
It’s unclear whether the cat was feral, someone’s pet or even already dead when the eagle snatched it up. One thing is for certain, this is about survival for the eagles. They don’t see something as a pet, they see food and a way to sustain themselves and there young.
