A Montgomery County, Texas homeowner from the Water Oak subdivision on Lake Conroe got a surprise when they looked into their backyard earlier this week and saw a man stealing their kayak.
When the homeowner ran down to confront the thief, he immediately fled on a bass boat – taking the kayak with him. Luckily a 15-year-old girl at the home saw the man and managed to get photos of the perpetrator.
The owner chased after the man and found him stuck in a canal, kayak still in hand. While attempting to block the thief from escaping, he threw the kayak overboard and sped past the homeowner, losing him in the process.
Lake Conroe Patrol started their search for the thief as soon as they were notified and eventually found him at April Point Marina, where they arrested him as he was pulling his boat out of the water and booked him on theft charges at the Montgomery County Jail.
