Skydiving isn’t for the faint of heart, but it takes a different breed of adrenaline junky to wingsuit over a highly active volcano. Roberta Mancino has dreamt of doing such a flyover for years, finally realizing that dream when she recently zoomed over Chile’s Villarrica stratovolcano and through the sulfur heavy smoke that constantly pours out of it.
Jumping out of a helicopter to go skydiving is one thing. Jumping out of a helicopter at 15,000ft to stare down one of South America’s highest active volcanoes is something else entirely.
