Couple Posts Photos Of Morel Mushrooms Online And The Cops Show Up

All a Maryland couple wanted to do was find some mushrooms so they could sautee them back at their house when they went out foraging for morel mushrooms.

After finding the mushrooms, John Garrison and Hope Deery posted several photos showing their find to Facebook.

“Mountain Morels!!! About to sautee them with brown sugar and cinnamon and see how that turns out,” wrote Garrison on his post.

Not long after eating the mushrooms, Garrison says a police officer knocked on his door and asked them why they ate psychedelic psilocybin mushrooms and posted pictures of it online.

Fortunately for the couple and unfortunately for the officer, not all mushrooms cause people to hallucinate as they break the law in a drug-fueled stupor.

“We let them in and as soon as the police officer walked in he asked us why we were eating mushrooms and posting about it online.”

Another officer showed up and notified the other officer that the mushrooms he had questioned the couple about weren’t going any type of drug at all. Morel mushrooms are no more mind-altering than a cantaloupe, so they were in the clear.
