While on a fishing trip with her father in New South Wales, Makayla Bittigieg had an unforgettable two days of Australian striped marlin catching. She caught an impressive striped marlin on day one, weighing 203.9 pounds, effectively putting her in the record books for her line class.
It was on day two that things turned up a couple of notches when she caught a 324.1 pound striped marlin – qualifying her for a line class IFGA world record.
Despite her epic run, it looks like she has her sights set on a new goal, “It’s just heaps of fun,” she said. “I want to try to get some tuna records soon.”
It looks like she has an incredibly bright future in fishing. With two records under her belt already, it’s only a matter of time before she shatters even more.
