I never thought I’d hear one of the largest known great whites in the world to be described as calm. Even so, that’s just what a great white named Mystery is described as by locals of Mexico’s Guadalupe Island.

This is Mystery, an 18ft great white shark well known for her impressive size and calm demeanour. A regular in the waters off Mexico’s Guadalupe Island, Mystery is also timid and cautious – making this encounter all the more extraordinary! The amazing footage was filmed by shark diving expert Jimi Partington while working as a fully licensed safety diver on a film shoot. Great whites should never be approached unless you’re a trained professional.
