This is the last catfish you’d want to find while noodling.
A 7.4-foot, 200-pound catfish was recently found in the Danube River at Verbund’s Abwinden-Asten hydroelectric dam near Linz, Austria. A cleaning crew was attempting to remove a blockage from the dam when the discovered it was caused by the massive fish.
The members of the team were stunned after discovering just how big the fish was after having to use a crane to lift the fish. Over the last few years, catfish in the Danube have multiplied, producing more massive fish like this one.
“We are seeing more and more catfish, though I don’t ever remember seeing one of this size before,” said fish expert Peter Noebauer.
