That patent provides for rapid international expansion of the affordable fully self-contained underwater hotel design complete with an elevator.
Not only does that landmark step reassure future investors and owners of the world’s first fully self-contained underwater luxury hotel, but it also paves the way for other nations to take advantage of this potentially lucrative new underwater tourism. Tony Webb, the leader behind Planet Ocean Underwater Hotel, compares the innovation to the outer space tourism industry. I refer to it as inner space tourism, says Webb, and the new industry is now ready to launch into the ocean frontier. Meanwhile the philanthropic goal is to give back to the planetary community through Biorock coral reef restoration of the world’s endangered coral reefs.
The Planet Ocean Underwater Hotel is assembled much like that of the International Space Station, and according to maritime Admiralty Law, the underwater hotel is classified as a vessel because it is can navigate ocean waters using electromechanical propulsion technology. That also means that the hotel can seek shelter under its own power in the event of a hurricane.
The flagship hotel is now ready to test, and the final phase of the regulatory process is now underway, namely securing permit approvals from a Caribbean island nation. We have selected a superior international location for our test site for the single unit hotel, Webb says, and once the permit is issued then the count-down clock begins. We will offer an opportunity to be part of the inner space tourism industry to every Caribbean island nation, too. While future space tourism passengers are booking advanced reservations for the $250,000 on SpaceShipTwo, guests can reserve a luxury room at the Planet Ocean Underwater Hotel for a mere fraction of that amount and be treated to a one-of-a-kind panoramic view of life 28 feet under the ocean. Buyers can also purchase the single unit Planet Ocean Underwater Hotel and place it in an approved Caribbean location for under $3 million. The 12-room Planet Ocean Underwater Hotel design is priced at approximately $20 million, and as Webb says, We will provide the protection, management and expansion of the most fascinating hotels on the planet.”
