Despite having long been dead, Pablo Escobar continues to cause trouble in Colombia.
During his reign as the most powerful drug lord in the world, Escobar smuggled in animals for his private zoo. Among those animals were four hippos.
Native to only Africa, the hippopotamus has no natural predators in Colombia, meaning it would go unchecked if it were introduced into the environment, which it did.
With plenty of food to eat, water to roam and nothing to stop them, those four hippos have grown to at least 50. Incredibly territorial and equally massive, these hippos could potentially kill people that are unlucky enough to get in their way, especially since they’re known to kill more people than any other animal in Africa.
Getting rid of them won’t be so easy.
