When that first snow of the year falls (if you’re in an area that actually gets a winter) there’s a good chance some part of you wishes you had a snowmobile to tear across you new winter wonderland. Unforunately, snowmobiles can be a serious investment that many just can’t spare the expense.
If only there were some way to build your own — it turns out there is.
This homemade snowmobile won’t win you any races but it will get you from point A to B. The best thing about this DIY snowmobile is that it only really requires a pair of old skis, a chainsaw and an innertube. That’s pretty much it, besides some piping and a little welding for the framework.
The best thing about this guys barebones snowmobile is that there’s plenty of room for modification for anyone that decides to take it a step further. We’re banking on seeing some homemade snowmobile races by 2018.
