Riding on the back of an elephant seems like a place where you’d be safe from predators, right? Not so much, at least where tigers are concerned.
A man was riding an elephant in Kaziranga National Park when he approached some tall grass. From his vantage point, it looked like the coast was clear. But an angry tiger pulled a Houdini and seemingly appeared out of nowhere.
Even though the elephant has 6,000-12,000 pounds on the tiger, it doesn’t hesitate one bit to leap directly at it as it attacks the rider. The guy appears to have had his hand bitten fairly badly, but he managed to stay on the elephant.
Luckily for him and the other riders, the elephant moved back slightly when it spotted the tiger. Had it not done that, it looks like things would’ve ended much worse for everyone.
