With less than 250 wolverines in the lower 48 states, it’s a rare occurrence to spot one, especially in the middle of a hunt. This incredible footage posted by Whitney Beckley shows a wolverine near Ajax Mountain in Montana as it attempts to run down a baby deer that’s trying to escape in the water. Though the wolverine is fast and agile on both land and water, it’s not able to get to the fawn before the mother gets between them, allowing the fawn to keep swimming off.
