Apparently killing a spider may only be the beginning of your problems if they’re afflicted with a bizarre and horrifying worm that slowly eats them from the inside.
When this spider was killed, something truly terrifying took place when an extremely long worm burst out of its body. These worms, known as mermithids, end up inside of spiders whenever spiders eat their eggs or come into contact with the eggs through another source.
These parasites can live in the spider from seven days to three months and keep the host alive for as long as possible.
Next time you see a spider, apparently you should just kill it with fire!
