A teenage boy jumped into a fish tank at a Denver, CO, Bass Pro Shop on Saturday. In addition to looking like putz and hitting his head in the process, Denver police said he will likely face charges if he hurt the fish or damaged the tank.
The juvenile jumped from a bridge located above the fish tank, which is located in the center of the store, while his friends filmed the entire thing.
Bass Pro Shops had this to say about the incident:
“Yesterday a teenage minor attempted to enter our aquarium as part of an intended prank. Our associates and security team quickly addressed the issue safely and without incident. We also appreciate the assistance of local law enforcement. Such occurrences are extremely rare and highly discouraged. We host more than 120 million visitors every year and provide a safe, fun experience for families who share our respect for wildlife.”
“Yes, a juvenile thought it was a good idea to jump into the tank,” said Officer Marika Putnam of the Denver Police Department.
If any part of someone jumping into a Bass Pro Shops fish tank sounds familiar, it’s because similar incidents have occurred at various store locations over the last several years.
At least this guy was was responsible enough in his irresponsibility to wear a lifejacket.
