Released by Mexico’s environmental protection agency, PROFESS, the video below shows recent firefighting efforts when a PEMEX oil tanker erupted in flames while in the Gulf of Mexico.
Though there were 31 crew members on board, all of them were able to escape without any serious injuries.
The fire started around 11 a.m. on Sunday on the Burgos when it was off the coast of Boca del Rio, Mexico. The tanker, which was Mexican-flagged, was carrying 80,000 barrels of diesel and 70,000 barrels of gasoline at the time of the fire.
