Officer with the FWC discovered a fishing vessel that was 1500 pounds over its limit after boarding it 35 miles offshore. The violation resulted in a $14,000 fine from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Overfishing is a practice that only ends up hurting those that follow guidelines when its continued occurrence forces limits to be made even more strict.
