Really Dumb Guy Drives His Truck Onto Jetty Despite 27-Foot Seas, Gets Rescued by Helicopter

This guy in a truck found one way to get a quick ride on a helicopter.

We’re not sure if this guy in the vehicle doesn’t watch the weather channel or if he’s just blind, either way, it was obvious driving out on Humboldt Bay’s north jetty was the worst possible idea he could have come up with. Luckily for the guy in the vehicle, he survived thanks to a Coast Guard rescue that involved a helicopter and a 47-foot lifeboat. Unfortunately, the whole incident was caught on video and currently has over 1.1 million views in less than a week.

“I thought he might be was suicidal until I saw the Arkansas plates,” said Tyler Whiteside, who recorded the footage. “He just didn’t know.”

While he may not have technically known, at some point common sense should give have told him that heading out onto a jetty that’s being bombarded by two story waves was a terrible idea. Thanks to some helpful onlookers, the driver was able to be saved from a mistake that would’ve easily killed him.
