3 Snowboarders Injured in 200-Foot Fall

An Arizona man and two California men were injured after going over the edge of a cliff, resulting in a nearly 200-foot fall while snowboarding near Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

The incident occurred after the snowboarders ventured out of bounds and found themselves in unfamiliar terrain. The two men from California were seriously injured, requiring an airlift, while the man from Arizona sustained minor injuries and was taken by toboggan to a safe area.

“We are pleased to report there were no fatalities with this serious incident,” said Jerry Blann, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort’s President.

The location of the incident is close to where an avalanche near the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort killed two skiers on Jan. 24

Stories like this are great examples of just how quickly backcountry travel can go from fun to life-threatening.

We at Outdoors 360 wish these snowboarders a speedy recovery. Be safe out there.
